What we do

Most hardware shops keep one type of bird spike on a hook near the tills and leave you to work out the rest. Bird control is the whole shop here: spikes in two materials, netting, gels, tapes, discs and sonic units, and the species strips for the birds that need a different answer.

We sell online only, direct across the UK. You tell us the bird and the surface, we tell you which of the options actually suits it, and it ships from one place.

How we work

This is a DIY shop. Nothing here is installed for you: everything is meant to go up with ordinary tools, fitted by the person who bought it. That is also why the repair gear sits next to the storage instead of in a separate catalogue.

Prices are in pounds and include everything you pay at checkout. Delivery is free across the UK on orders over £75, and a flat £22 below that, with no minimum order.

Not sure whether spikes or netting suits your bird, or how many strips a run needs? Email us at theteam@mybirdspikes.co.uk before you buy and we will help you work it out.

Choosing between wall and floor

Stainless steel is the stronger option and suits commercial and coastal work, because it resists corrosion and holds its shape outdoors. Polycarbonate costs less and is close to invisible from the ground, which is the answer on a period property or a shopfront where you would rather not see the fix. The bird decides the rest: pigeons, gulls and crows need room to land, so a spike works, while a sparrow can settle between the pins and needs netting instead. Fixings are chosen for the surface rather than supplied with every strip, because brick, timber and metal all want something different.

What we sell

Wall storage

Marine grade stainless steel strips for ledges, sills, gutters, fences and rooftops, cut to length with tin snips and fixed with adhesive, screws or ties.

Netting and mesh

Netting and mesh for larger openings, roof spaces and the gap under a solar array, where a spike strip cannot close the space.

Repair and maintenance

Repellent gel, reflective tape, hanging discs, and sonic and ultrasonic units for surfaces you cannot fix a strip to.

Accessories

Species strips for pigeons, seagulls, sparrows, wrens and Indian myna birds, plus squirrel spikes for fence lines and feeder poles and blunt cat spikes for fence tops.

Frequently asked questions

Who are you?

Bird Spikes Company, an online bird control shop delivering across the UK. We sell spikes, netting and deterrents to householders, tradespeople and businesses.

Is this a UK business?

The shop serves the UK and delivers UK wide. The trading company is Caruso Consulting Co Ltd, and the registration details are at the bottom of every page.

Do you have a shop I can visit?

No. We sell online only, with no showroom and no trade counter.

Do you fit the products?

No, we supply only. Everything is designed for DIY fitting with ordinary tools.

What makes you different from a general hardware shop?

Bird control is all we sell, so we can tell you when a spike is the wrong answer. A general retailer will sell you the strip either way.

Will you tell me if I do not need your product?

Yes. If the bird is a sparrow, a spike is not going to fix it, and we would rather say so than take the order and have it come back.

Do you sell to businesses?

Yes, and to pest controllers, facilities managers, builders and roofers. If you need a quantity, ask us for a price rather than adding thirty strips to the basket.

Do you sell to trade or wholesale?

Yes. The terms are set case by case, so email us with what you need and we will quote.

Are your products humane?

Yes. Everything we sell is a deterrent rather than a trap or a poison. Spikes take the landing space away and the bird moves on.

Are the products safe for pets?

Yes. The spikes are blunt enough that cats, dogs and squirrels are not injured.

What are the spikes made of?

Marine grade stainless steel, or UV stabilised polycarbonate. Both are made for permanent outdoor use.

Where are the products made?

They are manufactured to our specification and shipped from our own stock. If you need country of origin for a tender, ask and we will confirm it for the specific item.

Do you hold stock?

Yes. Orders are picked from stock and leave us after a 24 to 48 hour handling time.

How do I contact you?

Email theteam@mybirdspikes.co.uk. It reaches a person, not a queue.

How quickly do you reply?

Usually the same working day.

Can you advise on a big job?

Yes. Send the measurements, and a photo if you have one, and we will tell you what the run needs and roughly what it costs.

Do you charge for advice?

No.

What is your delivery charge?

Free over 75 pounds, otherwise 22 pounds, with no minimum order.

Can I return something I do not need?

Yes, within 14 days of delivery under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. Faulty goods are covered separately by the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

Do you have reviews?

We are on Trustpilot under the BirdSpikes group. We would rather point you at an independent page than quote ourselves.

Do you use eco friendly packaging?

Yes, our packaging is chosen to keep plastic down and to be recyclable where the material allows.

Are you family owned?

Yes.

What if my question is not answered here?

Email us. If it is a question worth answering it usually ends up on this page.
